About
Collage Art and the Artist
About the Artist

I started creating art later in life, after 35 years as a corporate and broadcast videographer. During a recovery from jaw surgery in 2013, my mother gave me magazines to keep me occupied. Thinking that they were colorful, I began to rip them up and make art. Since then, I’ve sold my works online and at art festivals, plus teach collage classes.
As my style and medium have evolved over the years, I now create art with acrylic ink, which I enhance with a micro pen and occasionally, colored pencil.
I live in Akron, Ohio, with my husband, a rough collie, and a very old cat.
About the Art
My collage style weaves a sense of realism within the subject and a sense of abstraction throughout the details. The focus of my art gravitates towards beloved themes such as animals, nature, and the beauty found in everyday occurrences. The collages are created from bits of magazines. No paint is used.
My acrylic works are inspired by my recent move near a metro park. I’ve been enchanted by the peace and serenity of the forest that I tend to paint the trees, plants, bugs, and animals in hopes of conveying the tranquility of the woods.
